BACCHUS Marsh Little Athletics Centre has received a grant from Community Bank Bacchus Marsh that will help the organisation purchase new equipment.

Centre president Sandra Ibrahim, secretary Gina Vasquez and athletes represented the organisation at the Community Bank’s annual general meeting to receive the grant of $2310.

The money will go towards new discus and shotput equipment, line marking paint, a javelin cart, and measuring tapes.

The new equipment will help sessions run efficiently for children and volunteers with the old equipment to be available for use by schools.

“You don’t want too much downtime between kids participating because they get bored and restless,” said Ms Ibrahim.

“If we have more equipment available, we can have more groups running and the kids get the benefit out of that that they are participating more often.”

The club is hoping to have the equipment by the end of January and Ms Ibrahim thanked the Community Bank for their support.

“We were very excited to receive the grant and very grateful that Bacchus Marsh Community Bank has been a very good support to our centre for the past 10 years,” she said.

“It was really nice to continue this partnership with them and recognise that we are a growing centre.”
