TODD WHELAN: Congrats Ethan on your 125 (80) in Round 3 – how was that feeling notching up your first ton?

ETHAN: Relief to be honest, given I had come close four times before.

TW: Is your goal to become a regular player in the First XI or are you happy where you are?

ET: I definitely want to become a regular First XI player.

TW: Tell us about your experience at DCC – why do you choose to play at the Lions?

ET: Family environment, inclusive and good culture.

TW: What would you request to improve the BCA season?

ET: Less two-day games (no Sundays!); more 20-20s under lights; Fridays would be cool.

TW: Tell us about your preparation – what do you do over and above the two nights training to fast-track your development/improvement?

ET: Stay connected – I watch a lot of cricket. I’m particular about how much practice I do – I don’t like to overdo anything – remain balanced.

TW: Who outside of the First XI bowlers gives you the most trouble in the nets?

ET: Lachie Herring.

TW: What is your favorite shot to play when batting?

ET: Slog over mid-on.

TW: Which shot do you find gets you out the most?

ET: Half-a***d shot to cover.

TW: If you’re not out batting at the lunch break, do you avoid any particular food or drink?

ET: Yep, Dan Hynes’s wraps.

TW: Who is the most underrated player at the club?

ET: Harvey Hoey.

TW: What other sport could you play at a high level if there were no cricket?

ET: Down Ball.

TW: In a freakish sense, which player at the club can do things on-field that others can’t?

ET: Josh Murphy.

TW: Who at the club has the most upside from a junior perspective?

ET: Mac Shelley.

TW: What is your favorite ground to play on away from Darley Park?

ET: Buninyong.

TW: Who is your favorite cricket person at the club?

ET: Andy Picket.

ET: Vege rissotto.
