THE launch of the 2024 Community Bank Ballan and District Ballan Cup was held last week at Zest Cafe Ballan.

Ballan Jockey Club president Billy Smith said about 60 members and sponsors attended the event which was an opportunity for networking, to announce packages and membership options for the racing season, and to share the cup’s community partner.

“Our Community Race Day Partner will be Ballan Fire Brigade,” Mr Smith said.

“At the moment, they’re fundraising for a new field command vehicle, so that is one of the reasons that they have come on board.”

Mr Smith said Ballan Cup Day packages are live online.

“They’re going along well and we’re encouraging people to join up as members to get a discount on their packages,” he said.

“With the membership, you will get free entry for Ballan Cup Day, but also the Geelong Cup and the Geelong St Pat’s Day in March.”

The Ballan Cup will be held at Geelong Racecourse on Saturday 9 November. Visitcountry.racing.com/ballan/calendar/ballan-cup for more information.
