BASEBALL season is almost upon us, and a local club are calling on anyone with an interest in the sport to get involved.
Fresh off a Division 3 Championship last season, the Bacchus Marsh Tigers Baseball Club are seeking past and new players for the 2024 season.
Former President of the club, Greg Tinkler, said the Tigers were a fantastic club to be involved with, and urged locals to come and give baseball a try.
“We’re chomping at the bit to get started with a new season. The problem we have is that we’ve had a couple of people move away, and both Nate and Tom are young fathers, and another member has a kid on the way…that takes a lot of effort,” Mr Tinkler said.
“We’re only a small club, so having three people not available to play every week is why we’re desperately trying to find more players.
“It’s a lovely community-based club, which is at the dog park, so it’s really easy to get to. Baseball is a great sport, and it’s really good for cricketers to play in winter.”
The Bacchus Marsh Tigers train at 6.30pm at Masons Lane on Wednesdays, and play games on Saturday afternoons in Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat, Werribee, Corio, and Geelong.
