News from Pentland Calisthenics College
PENTLAND Calisthenics College Tinies and Seniors wrapped up their competition seasons this week with their performances at the Calisthenics Victoria State Titles competitions.
Sixteen Tinies (aged 3–7) and their families and supporters made the trip to Bendigo on Monday of last week to perform in the beautiful Ulumbarra Theatre.
Proud coach Jessica Mitchell said: “The girls had so much fun today just like their past three competitions; they have improved so much over the year.”
The Tinies learn and perform four routines and over the year they have achieved the following results:
Team 1 (Tinies)
Free Exercises – 3rd, Honourable Mention (HM) x 3
Rods – 3rd x 2, HM x 2
Aesthetics – 2nd, 3rd x 2, Highly Commended (HC)
Song & Dance – 3rd x 2, HM, HC
Team 2 (Tots)
Free Exercises – 3rd, HC x 3
Rods – HM, HC x 3
Aesthetics – HM, HC x 3
Song & Dance – HM, HC
The Seniors are a relatively small team with six dedicated calisthenic performers. On the grand final public holiday they hit the stage at The Besen Centre, Mt Scopus College in Burwood.
It’s been a challenging year for the team, having been promoted to a higher division with a small team which has had to juggle a number of injuries over the last few months.
They are, however, a very close -knit team and look out for each other on and off the stage, which has really shown throughout 2024.
They perform six items as part of their competition syllabus and this year they have been awarded the following:
March – HM, HC
Clubs – HM, HC x 3
Rods – 2nd, 3rd, HC
Free Exercises – 2nd, HM
Rhythmical Aesthetics – 1st, 3rd, HM x 2
Dance Arrangement – HM, HC x 3
