Rain robs Lions of late finals tilt

INCLEMENT weather saw day one of action abandoned after just twelve overs, removing any chance of a desperately needed outright win for the Lions against ninth placed Brown HIll.

The Lions won the toss and sent the hosts in who were 0/28 when persistent rain gave umpires no choice but to call time on the two-day fixture.

Round 13’s conclusion now will be decided with a 50 over, one day game this Saturday.

It’s unfortunate for the Lions who remain eight points outside of the top four with with only this and a round 14 game with Bacchus Marsh remaining in the home and away season.
