This Saturday night at Redline Raceway will see three headlining features and the return of the Hot Rods two weeks after we last saw them compete.

Street Stocks and Standard Saloons have big features, with the Unlimited Sedans competing in a series round for their class. Nineteen drivers have nominated for the Crab Pot feature for Street Stock drivers who have not won a Street Stock feature previously, as created and supported by Mick Dann, a Street Stock racer and club member who has had plenty of big race wins.

The likes of Redline club member races Mark Purdie, Leigh Bourke, Andrew Burgoyne, and Scott Secombe are looking to take the win this Saturday, and as a result eliminate themselves from competing in the Crab Pot ever again. Tasmanian Mark Riley, Rhys Meakins, Brock Summers another Tasmanian, and Tim Hutchinson are other competitors in the line-up that will challenge for the big victory.

Standard Saloons will be in action for the Gold Rush event, with some of the best competitors in action. Heading the list is seven-time state champion Scott Whittle, and one-time state champion Craig Templeton, both representing the host Club resident.

Drivers visiting to compete in the big event that also might challenge at the front of the field include Ally Morrison (twice the Women’s state champion), Matt Domburg, Aaron Meakins, Andrew Miles, Bradley Hill, former state champion Jake Vuillermin, Brodie Ardley and his father Shane, plus Ballarat locals Bailey Sinclair, Lachie Chivers, and Jacob Head, the winner of our last event for Standard Saloons.

Unlimited Sedans compete this weekend in the first of two feature events this season for them at Redline. The first is a series round for the Lucky Sevens series with Redline represented by Sean Lister, Trent Susol, and Ian Page. All are top running competitors wherever they compete. State champion Peter Cox, Travis Ramsdale a winner of a feature last season at Redline, Ashley Booker, Danny Smith, Corey McDonald, Ballarat racer Steve Hodder, and Troy Hutchison are other competitors fans will enjoy competing on Saturday.

In the Speedway Drivers Association of Victoria, Hot Rods Eddie Ivermee is back to try and win again, whilst Shannon Meakins will be keen to take a victory at Redline at least once in the season as the number competitor in the class over recent seasons.

Racing begins at 4.00 pm, finishing at 10:30 at 569 Yankee Flat Road Buninyong. Adult Tickets are $30 each, with children aged from 6 to 16 at $7 and aged and invalid pensioners $25. A family ticket will cost $65 for two adults and three children, whilst any child aged five and under are free.
