Results – Round 15

BM Tigers 6 def Saints 3

The previous game between the BM Tigers and Corio Saints resulted in a draw so this was shaping up to be a competitive game. Tigers were close to full strength with both Bronwyn Gell and Shiori Hoshino back in the team, however Corio had the home ground advantage.

Cooper Rickard started on the mound for the Saints, and Tigers responded strongly with Shannon Hornstra, James Bailey and Jon Bell all getting hits in the first innings to bring home the first run of the game. The Tigers continued to bat well and were consistent in scoring runs, the team ending with two hits each for Bronwyn Gell and James Bailey and five other contributors.

S Hoshino started on the mound for Tigers, pitching five innings with no earned runs (all runs scored were the result of fielding errors). J Bailey took over as relief pitcher in the sixth innings and the Tigers tightened up their fielding resulting in no runs from five hits.

The Tigers will be at home for the last two weeks of the regular season, games start at 1pm Saturdays.

BM Tigers are planning to run some summer programs, in particular Baseball for All and juniors programs. Anyone interested please contact the club on our email, [email protected].
