Whilst Usain Bolt is playing soccer in New South Wales and attracting a fair bit of attention from international clubs, a junior soccer player in Moorabool has taken out two tops awards in the Ballarat & District Soccer Association League.
David Dillon has played with the Bacchus Marsh Soccer club for a number of
years and in that time, he has always shown a great attitude, turning up for
training full of enthusiasm and always with a smile on his face, a spokesperson from the club told the Moorabool News.
“He has fun during training but always gives his best. David has serious ability and is
a natural athlete,” he said.
This season he played for the Under 13 Division 1 side, in the Ballarat
and District Soccer Association league. The team reached finals, but
unfortunately, did not make the grand final.
Despite this David won best and fairest for the U13 Division 1 League and on top
of this he also won the highly coveted Craig Pierce Memorial trophy for best
and fairest in all of the junior leagues in the B.D.S.A.
The spokesperson for the club said this is an amazing achievement for David.
“Both David and the club are very proud. We are delighted and privileged to have David as a member of the Bacchus Marsh Scorpions soccer club,” he said.
