A CRICKET academy program has launched locally, with free trial sessions offered to young cricketers.

Sessions of the Shane Warne Cricket Star Academy launched on Saturday 11 May at Tamba’s Cricket Hub in Maddingley.

The award-winning program allows children to learn and develop the skills of cricket in a professional learning environment, with qualified coaches.

It caters to children of all skill levels, with polyvinyl chloride balls and lightweight bats used to begin with, before moving to a harder ball once kids advance their skills.

Attendees at Saturday’s launch event took part in state-of-the-art training, demonstration sessions showcasing the academy’s training methodology, and drills designed to improve batting, bowling, and fielding techniques.

Ajay Kumar from the Shane Warne Cricket Star Academy encouraged families with children who love the gentleman’s game to get in touch.

“The launch on Saturday was a free event, and we will continue free trial cricket sessions for some time.

“Our sessions will be running weekly on Sundays from 9am to 11am, at Tamba’s Cricket Hub at 39 Fisken Street, Maddingley.”
