{"id":10638,"date":"2022-07-04T08:00:05","date_gmt":"2022-07-03T22:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=10638"},"modified":"2024-02-02T23:56:46","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T12:56:46","slug":"larger-dogs-looking-for-new-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/larger-dogs-looking-for-new-homes\/","title":{"rendered":"Larger dogs looking for new homes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>RSPCA calls on Victorians to \u2018Go Big\u2019 with dog adoption promotion <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>RSPCA Victoria will aim to rehome as many larger breed dogs as possible this Saturday 2 July with a new adoption promotion called, \u2018Go BIG and Go HOME\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Running at RSPCA\u2019s Burwood East, Peninsula, Wangaratta and Warrnambool Animal Care Centres, Victorians will be able to make an appointment to go into their local shelter and view all of the large breed dogs available for adoption before choosing one to meet, with the possibility of adopting and taking their new doggy friend home on the day.<\/p>\n<p>RSPCA Victoria Animal Care Manager Nadia Peiris said some people avoid larger dog breeds, with the organisation receiving fewer applications for them recently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile they don\u2019t suit everyone\u2019s lifestyle, big dogs make great pets for the right family in the right environment but are often misunderstood.
