{"id":11301,"date":"2022-08-20T06:00:30","date_gmt":"2022-08-19T20:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=11301"},"modified":"2024-02-02T22:10:01","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T11:10:01","slug":"want-a-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/want-a-job\/","title":{"rendered":"Want a job?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is an opportunity to work at the Victorian State election this November and by doing so you will be, contributing to the Victorian democracy by working as an election casual or official.<\/p>\n<p>The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is looking for casual staff for the 2022 Victorian State election with Dan Fleming, Deputy Electoral Commissioner, saying it is \u201ca fantastic way to contribute to democracy in Victoria\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs long as you are over 18 and an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a current work visa, you could work with us for one day or up to 4 weeks in a variety of roles,\u201d Ms Fleming said.<\/p>\n<p>The VEC welcomes all applications and is committed to having its election workforce reflect the diversity of the Victorian community. People are particularly encouraged to apply if they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>speak multiple languages including English<\/li>\n<li>are from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities<\/li>\n<li>have a disability<\/li>\n<li>don\u2019t have secure housing<\/li>\n<li>are aged between 18 and 30.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Election casuals receive competitive pay and don\u2019t need any prior experience, with full training provided.<\/p>\n<p>Election staff develop skills in administration, customer service, and teamwork and enjoy a unique working experience.<\/p>\n<p>Voting centres and early voting centres will be located across the state and people are encouraged to apply for election work anywhere in Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>People interested in working at the election can register their interest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vec.vic.gov.au\">www.vec.vic.gov.au<\/a> and search Register for Work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is an opportunity to work at the Victorian State election this November and by doing so you will be, contributing to the Victorian democracy by working as an election casual or official.
