Millions of dollars will be spent developing a new aged care residence in Ballan, with the service provider promising \u201ca range of luxury offerings\u201d for residents.<\/p>\n
Ballan District Health & Care (BDHC) was officially acquired by not-for profit aged care and disability services provider mecwacare last year, and the organisation has revealed plans to spend $25 \u2013 $30 million on developing a \u201cpremium aged care residence\u201d in Ballan.<\/p>\n
Mecwacare Chief Executive, Michele Lewis, said the facility would become a \u201cdestination in demand\u201d once completed.<\/p>\n
\u201cMecwacare is excited to build on our commitment to providing high-quality aged care and healthcare services to the Ballan community. Our new aged care development is part of a health care precinct including the Ballan Medical Clinic Allied Health service, pool, and gym. The precinct will allow our future residents to easily access care from our team of general practitioners and allied health providers,\u201d Ms Lewis told the Moorabool News.<\/p>\n
Ms Lewis said mecwacare is looking forward to \u201cgrowing our connection with the Ballan community\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf our connection with the Ballan Lioness members and their work on the front gardens is anything to go by, it will be a fabulous partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n
On-site rooms will include state-of-the-art fittings and finishes, as well as large balconies, lounge, and dining spaces. The residence will feature a cinema, private dining room, caf\u00e9, library, and other amenities.<\/p>\n
Work on the new aged care residence has already begun, including the refurbishment of an upstairs office which can accommodate an additional 35 staff.<\/p>\n
