{"id":12192,"date":"2022-10-26T07:00:43","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T20:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=12192"},"modified":"2024-02-02T18:55:06","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T07:55:06","slug":"hats-off-to-teachers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/hats-off-to-teachers\/","title":{"rendered":"Hats off to teachers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This coming Friday (28 October) is World Teachers\u2019 Day, and to celebrate all our wonderful teachers, the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) has launched its annual campaign \u2013 \u2018Hats off to Teachers\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Teachers have a significant impact on the development and learning lives of children across the country, and should be celebrated and recognised every day \u2013 especially on World Teachers\u2019 Day.<\/p>\n<p>AITSL Campaign Ambassador Eddie Woo hopes to see as many Aussies as possible joining AITSL in celebrating what teachers mean to them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s simple. We want everyone to show that they value educators and schools by taking a \u201chats off\u201d selfie and sharing their message of appreciation for our teachers. Our teachers have risen to face so many challenges over the past few years: floods, fires and a worldwide pandemic that have all turned our lives upside down and required us to reinvent the way we live and work,\u201d Mr Woo said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll through that, they\u2019ve continued to support and educate our children and students. As a teacher, I appreciate World Teachers\u2019 Day because it\u2019s encouraging to see the messages flow in from across the country \u2013 from students, their parents and carers, the community, and even other teachers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt reminds us of the positive impact that our work has on the lives of the children and their families, which is often unseen and unexpressed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>AITSL has also launched a virtual photo booth with a variety of hats to use in selfies and then share on social media \u2013 making it easy for everyone to get involved.<\/p>\n<p>Parents, carers, students, schools, and early childhood centres can download a World Teachers\u2019 Day celebration toolkit from AITSL\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>AITSL CEO, Mark Grant said that it was the high-quality expertise of Australian teachers that helps our students succeed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorld Teachers\u2019 Day is important because, not only is the expertise of Australia\u2019s teachers recognised and celebrated, but it positively highlights the status of the profession,\u201d Mr Grant said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Australia World Teachers\u2019 Day is on Friday 28 October. In the lead-up, we invite everyone to start visiting the virtual photo booth and to start sharing their messages of appreciation.
