The Minister for Aged Care is encouraging older people, their family, carers, and aged care providers to share their thoughts on improving aged care, as part of a new review.<\/p>\n
The Aged Care Quality Standards have been revised to strengthen key areas such as food and nutrition, diversity, dementia, clinical care, and governance \u2013 and the Federal Government wants to hear from the public to make sure they\u2019ve got it right.<\/p>\n
Anika Wells is the Federal Minister for Aged Care, and said the review was in response to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Aged Care Quality Standards are more than just a document. They provide a shared understanding of what is expected in aged care. They are being urgently reviewed so we can strengthen requirements and embed high quality in the aged care system,\u201d Ms Wells said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to ensure all older people receive high quality care that is best suited to them and meets their individual needs, which is why it\u2019s so critical that as many people engage as possible and have their say.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe heard what the Royal Commission said, and are raising the bar for quality and safety.\u201d<\/p>\n
