A local student is the pride of his primary school, having made it to the state level for high jump this year.<\/p>\n
Sam Vallance is a Grade 5 student at Darley Primary School, and his hard work and excellent results in high jump have seen him qualify to represent the region at this year\u2019s Victorian All Schools Track & Field Championships.<\/p>\n
Darley Primary School Principal Fiona Kerton congratulated Sam on his fantastic achievement.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a school we are exceptionally proud of Sam and his achievements in High Jump this year. Sam has competed in four events to now be competing in the State Track and Field Championships being held at the Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park. In gaining a place to represent the \u2018Western Ranges\u2019 Region, Sam has competed through the school, district, division and region competitions,\u201d Ms Kerton told the Moorabool News.<\/p>\n
\u201cSam has been training at school once a week in his lunch breaks, we commend him on his dedication and drive. We can\u2019t wait to hear what his result at the State Championships will be.\u201d<\/p>\n
In his journey to qualifying, Sam placed in the top four at the school, first place in Bacchus Marsh District, first place in the Western Ranges Division with a jump of 1.18 metres, and second place in the Western Metropolitan Region with a jump of 1.38 metres.<\/p>\n
The Victorian All Schools Track & Field Championships were held over two weekends, from 29 \u2013 30 October and 5 \u2013 6 November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
