A new mural is being launched in Bacchus Marsh, planned as the first in a series of artworks celebrating local wildlife and the environment.<\/p>\n
The Bacchus Marsh Platypus Alliance is launching its mural at the wall of the Bacchus Marsh Outdoor Pool on Sunday 27 November from 1 to 2 pm, with kids\u2019 activities, platypus-themed displays, and short talks about the animals in the mural.<\/p>\n
Painted by renowned mural artist Lukas Kasper, the vibrant mural features not only our local platypus, but also a range of other fauna and flora including the growling grass frog, purple crowned lorikeet, river red gum, and Bacchus Marsh wattle.<\/p>\n
President of the Bacchus Marsh Platypus Alliance, Jodie Valpied, said the mural\u00a0 launch was an exciting first step in a bigger arts project.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fabulous, vibrant mural celebrates our local platypus and some of the other native animals and plants that live along the Werribee River through Bacchus Marsh. It is the first mural to be installed for our ‘Platypus Arts Trail’, which aims to connect community members and visitors to our special local environment, wildlife, and flora through the arts,\u201d Dr Valpied told the Moorabool News.<\/p>\n
