It is on again this year, and Moorabool Shire Council is celebrating the Big Summer Read occasion with two launch parties this week.<\/p>\n
The Big Summer Read offers prizes for kids and teens, simply for getting stuck into some great books in December and January.<\/p>\n
Anyone under the age of 18 in Victoria can join, and Council is hosting a launch party at Lerderderg Library from 3 pm to 5 pm on Thursday 1 December, and another at Ballan Library from 3 pm to 5 pm.<\/p>\n
Attendees will be shown how to get involved in the Big Summer Read, and should bring a mobile phone or tablet to register and download the Beanstack app, which is used to record the books you\u2019re reading.<\/p>\n
Paper-based alternatives will also be available.<\/p>\n
All that Moorabool participants need to do to be in the running for a prize is read ten books, with four $40 book vouchers, two $50 movie vouchers, and a $200 EFTPOS gift card up for grabs.<\/p>\n
All Victorian participants will also go into the statewide prize draw, with $200 reading vouchers on offer for those aged 0 \u2013 8, $250 reading vouchers for those aged 9 \u2013 12, and $500 reading vouchers for those aged 13 \u2013 18.<\/p>\n
Prizes will be drawn on Friday 10 February 2023.<\/p>\n
