Carbon monoxide (CO) is a poisonous gas that you cannot see or smell.<\/p>\n

Symptoms of CO poisoning are non-specific and can be mistaken for flu-like illness or food poisoning. They may include headache, nausea and vomiting, skin flushing, muscle pain, weakness, shortness of breath, dizziness, coordination difficulties, confusion, or chest pain.<\/p>\n

High concentrations of CO can cause seizures, loss of consciousness and even death.<\/p>\n

If you think that you or someone else may have CO poisoning:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Immediately turn off all gas appliances.<\/p>\n

– Open doors and windows to ventilate the area.<\/p>\n

– Leave the property, keeping the doors and windows open if possible.<\/p>\n

– Seek medical advice immediately or call NURSE-ON-CALL on 1300 60 60 24 (24\/7).<\/p>\n

– In an emergency call Triple Zero (000).<\/p>\n
