{"id":13855,"date":"2023-03-01T09:00:04","date_gmt":"2023-02-28T22:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=13855"},"modified":"2024-02-01T18:07:53","modified_gmt":"2024-02-01T07:07:53","slug":"big-v-blitz-in-nsw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/sport\/big-v-blitz-in-nsw\/","title":{"rendered":"Big V blitz in NSW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Michael Howard (HRV)<\/p>\n<p>Victoria\u2019s assault on the $1 million Garrards Miracle Mile swelled to five with Emma Stewart\u2019s pair Honolua Bay and Hurricane Harley securing starts alongside stablemates Mach Dan and Captain Ravishing.<\/p>\n<p>Last Saturday night at Menangle (NSW) Expensive Ego finished second in the Allied Express Sprint to a brilliant Honolua Bay to also clinch a start, while Spirit Of St Louis won the Schweppes Sprint ahead of second-placed Hurricane Harley to earn their tickets.<\/p>\n<p>Braeview Kelly won a wildcard after scoring in the Pryde\u2019s EasiFeed Queen Elizabeth II Mile, while the other wildcard placing went to Stewart&#8217;s exciting four-year-old Captain Ravishing, who is set for a rematch with Andy Gath\u2019s Chariots Of Fire winner Catch A Wave.<\/p>\n<p>The results set the stage for a thrilling Grand Circuit final this Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Gath joined TrotsVision coverage to speak to Catch A Wave\u2019s chances, with the four-year-old confirming his freakish talent in last Saturday\u2019s outstanding win over Captain Ravishing that got tongues wagging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve raced him once and beat him once, that doesn\u2019t mean we\u2019ll beat him again, hopefully we\u2019ll have plenty of clashes going forward,\u201d Gath said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(Starting in a Miracle Mile is) probably something I never thought about. It\u2019s such an iconic race and such an honour to have a runner in it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve only ever had one horse in it \u2013 Hearts Legend \u2013 and that was probably 20-odd years ago.
