There will be moving and grooving to classic rockabilly tunes at the Bacchus Marsh Public Hall this month, with the Kieron McDonald Combo arriving next weekend.<\/p>\n
From 2 \u2013 6pm on Saturday 20 May, Apple 98.5 FM President and rockabilly lover Karellyn Dangar is organizing the event, and says the concert is sure to take attendees back in time.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s like turning the clocks back, when you walk in through those doors, it\u2019s turning the clocks back to an era where we\u2019ve got the fabulous music, the dancing, the clothes, the cruisers and hot rods out the front. It\u2019s just a fun time,\u201d Ms Dangar told the Moorabool News.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople say to me \u2018I don\u2019t know how to dance, I don\u2019t have the clothes\u2019. That\u2019s not the point \u2013 come down and have a good time. It\u2019s four hours, it\u2019s in the afternoon, come down and enjoy yourself\u2026come and do your own thing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got authentic rockabilly bands playing, they play it the way it should be played, not their interpretations.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Dangar urges people to come and meet new people, and get on the dance floor even if they don\u2019t know how to dance.<\/p>\n
\u201cMeet everybody and have a good time, it doesn\u2019t matter if you know how to dance \u2013 I could teach someone the basics in 15 minutes. Develop your own style, that\u2019s what it\u2019s all about,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
On top of the groovy 50s-style music, the day will also feature lucky door and raffle prizes. Tickets are $25 prepaid, or $30 at the door.<\/p>\n
