A local cemetery has just finished its latest project \u2013 a memorial wall acknowledging locals who have passed, but are not buried at the cemetery grounds.<\/p>\n
After approving the concept at a meeting on 13 February this year, the Maddingley General Cemetery Trust agreed to name a new wall at the cemetery \u2018The Allan Comrie Wall \u2013 For Plaques Acknowledging the lives of People whose Ashes are Scattered Elsewhere\u2019.<\/p>\n
Trust Member Rick Dickson said the Wall both acknowledges those who had passed away and had their ashes scattered, and honours a long-serving volunteer at the cemetery.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot only are we honouring the 40-year voluntary service of Allan Comrie to the Cemetery Trust, we have also created a place whereby the remembrance of a departed loved one can be recorded for eternity,\u201d Mr Dickson told the Moorabool News.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe already have had a number of enquiries for this unique manner in remembering a loved one following the permanent scattering of their ashes.\u201d<\/p>\n
