The thrilling conclusion to a local author\u2019s trilogy of novels will officially launch next week, and she\u2019s keen to share it with the world.
\nBlackwood author Trudy Adams is releasing \u2018The Crowned Guardians\u2019 \u2013 a third book in her \u2018Armoured Butterfly\u2019 series \u2013 on Saturday 12 August, at a free launch event.<\/p>\n
Recommended for those aged 13 and older, the book features protagonist Adaliah in her quest to save the Rhea Lands from the Zalem cult, with the help of her friends Alexia, Darj, and Elhian.<\/p>\n
Ms Adams said the The Crowned Guardians features themes and values she hopes inspire readers.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s sort of about coming back out of the ashes when you\u2019ve lost everything, when all the forces are coming against you. While it is an historical adventure with battles and fighting back against evil, it\u2019s also about that personal journey of finding who you are in tough times, and the value of identity, journey, and having other people alongside you during that journey,\u201d she told the Moorabool News.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think for me it\u2019s the values that underpin what can take place in that setting. Bravery, courage, and exploring those\u2026how people respond when they\u2019re in a dire situation, and how it can bring out both the best and the worst in people.\u201d<\/p>\n
While The Crowned Guardians will be the final book in the Armoured Butterfly series, Ms Adams says there may be potential for future stories set in the same universe, but with Adaliah and other characters being more in a \u201cmentor role\u201d in the background.<\/p>\n
The launch event will feature an exclusive author interview, book readings, exciting prize draws, and book signings.<\/p>\n
Light refreshments will also be provided, and attendees are encouraged to dress up in fantasy attire related to the book to enter the best costume competition. School representatives will also have a chance to win book prizes for their local school library.<\/p>\n
Entry to the book launch event is free, but seats are limited, so make sure you secure your spot as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
