The reasoning for a power pole, seemingly in the middle of a road in Bacchus Marsh, has been clarified, after several residents complained of the odd placement.<\/p>\n

Multiple locals contacted the Moorabool News enquiring about the pole, which is located at the new entrance to the Bacchus Marsh Racecourse and Recreation Reserve on Bacchus Marsh-Balliang Road.<\/p>\n

People who spotted the power pole made comments such as \u201cvery typical\u201d and \u201ccould only happen in Bacchus Marsh\u201d.<\/p>\n

But Moorabool Shire Council CEO Derek Madden explained the odd location of the power pole, stating that it was only a temporary placement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe [Racecourse] Reserve is currently powered by overhead lines but is going underground as part of the facility upgrade. As part of this, a new power substation is being installed and the poles remain in place until the new power substation is commissioned,\u201d Mr Madden told the Moorabool News. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe power station is on-site, and we have continued construction of the facility in the knowledge that the pole will be removed once the new system is commissioned. It is expected that the power substation will be commissioned in the coming month and the pole can then be removed and the roadworks finalised.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
