{"id":16868,"date":"2023-10-19T09:00:20","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T22:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=16868"},"modified":"2024-01-31T16:57:30","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T05:57:30","slug":"night-of-nights-for-stewart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/sport\/night-of-nights-for-stewart\/","title":{"rendered":"Night of nights for Stewart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Tim O&#8217;Connor (HRV)<\/p>\n<p>Saturday was one of Emma Stewart\u2019s greatest ever nights at the Melton Entertainment Park races, with the Victoria Cup wedged in between wins in two of the state\u2019s most prestigious three-year-old features.<\/p>\n<p>The champion horsewoman prepared the first five runners home in the Pryde\u2019s Easifeed Victoria Oaks after David Moran combined with Sweet Bella to claim the $150,000 Group 1 over favourite Major Delight in a photo finish.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Stewart had the quinella in the Woodlands Stud Victoria Derby after Petracca outmuscled stablemate Perfect Class to prevail in the $200,000 classic.<\/p>\n<p>Petracca, owned by Melbourne Demons-mad football fan Danny Zavitsanos, backed up his last-start Vicbred Super Series success with a second-successive Group 1 victory in a race that has been run since 1914.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just didn\u2019t want to do too much work and luckily I was able to just poke around (from the back row). He\u2019s just a beautiful horse to drive, he kept nice and settled for me,\u201d driver Cam Hart said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was just a matter of getting the right one to follow and Perfect Class, on paper, looked like it was going to probably move.
