{"id":1785,"date":"2018-02-21T01:26:14","date_gmt":"2018-02-21T01:26:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=1785"},"modified":"2024-02-02T17:23:26","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T06:23:26","slug":"engage-at-studio-22","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/engage-at-studio-22\/","title":{"rendered":"Engage at Studio 22"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Kate Taylor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s an engagement worth $125,000, and local young people are set to benefit from it.<\/p>\n<p>The State Government\u2019s Engage! 2018-20 program has given Moorabool Shire Council the money, to be used to give local young people the opportunity to participate in, and connect with, the local community. <\/p>\n<p>Announcing the funding at Studio 22, the youth space at Darley, Member for Buninyong, Geoff Howard, said $125,000 has been approved for Moorabool Shire for the Moorabool Youth Engage! Program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoorabool Youth Engage will bring young people together to develop a new youth strategy and a youth space, ensuring support meets the needs of vulnerable youth in the community,\u201d Mr Howard said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYoung people involved will have a key role in developing targeted programs that ensure they have their say in the decisions that affect their lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy working with other young people to gain hands-on experiences, participants will also gain confidence and skills which will help them achieve their goals and to become involved in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moorabool Mayor Paul Tatchell welcomed the funding and said the work done around the Youth Strategy and the new Studio 22 youth space in Darley was a great way to build strong relationships with local youth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe engage with our young people and get them involved in strategies, Studio 22 and leadership programs and that goes a long way to ensuring we\u2019re catering for their needs and delivering outcomes that benefit our young people,\u201d Mayor Tatchell said. <\/p>\n<p>107 projects from across the state have shared in $12.3 million as part of the Engage! 2018-20 program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Kate Taylor It\u2019s an engagement worth $125,000, and local young people are set to benefit from it.
