Driver Corey O\u2019Donoghue is having a leg injury treated and fellow driver Alannah Logie is recovering well after both were involved in a fall at Melton last Saturday night.<\/p>\n
Both O\u2019Donoghue and Logie required medical attention after Logie\u2019s horse, As She Says, broke gait and fell, leading into the final turn of the night\u2019s second race, checking O\u2019Donoghue\u2019s horse, who was behind her.<\/p>\n
Scans cleared Logie of serious injury and she was discharged from hospital overnight and is recovering. O\u2019Donoghue is having surgery on a broken right femur and his father, trainer Steven, shared he was in “good spirits”.<\/p>\n
Logie\u2019s drive, As She Says, is being assessed by vets today. O\u2019Donoghue\u2019s horse, Micton Mouse, trained by David Barbetti, has come through the incident well, with superficial abrasions to his knees and chest. He is expected to make a full recovery. <\/p>\n
The three other horses and drivers involved in the fall \u2013 Rockaway Beach (Nick Beale), John Vincent (Ben Xiriha) and Tooby Gold (Stephen Blacker) \u2013 were cleared of injury.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
