The remains of missing man Brian Andrews have been found nearly 10-months after he was last seen at his Inglis Street home in Ballan.<\/p>\n
Mansfield Police Sgt Mark Ross told the Moorabool News a deer hunter made the shock find in secluded bush in the Mansfield area on Monday September 25. <\/p>\n
The 87-year-old, who lived alone, was last seen at about 1pm on December 7 last year.<\/p>\n
His remains were reportedly found inside his stationary vehicle. <\/p>\n
The Missing Person\u2019s Unit have worked in conjunction with Moorabool Crime Investigations Unit, however the death is not being treated as suspicious. <\/p>\n
A police spokesperson said the family were notified last week.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had to wait on forensic DNA to confirm the identity before releasing the body to the family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Peter Andrews, the son of Brian, told the Moorabool News it was a relief for the family. <\/p>\n
The life of Brian Andrews will be celebrated at St Brigids Church in Ballan on Tuesday October 10 at 11am. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
