{"id":18406,"date":"2018-02-06T00:01:53","date_gmt":"2018-02-06T00:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=1679"},"modified":"2024-02-02T17:27:24","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T06:27:24","slug":"tick-of-approval-for-aged-care-facility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/tick-of-approval-for-aged-care-facility\/","title":{"rendered":"Tick of approval for aged care facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Kate Taylor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ballan District Health and Care has hit its target \u2013 44 times over, in fact.<\/p>\n<p>The Aged Care team officially received renewal of their aged care accreditation with flying colours \u2013 meeting all 44 National Standards set by the Australian Government. <\/p>\n<p>The extensive audit process to have accreditation renewed is mandatory of all providers and takes place every three years, through the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency. <\/p>\n<p>The audit covers management systems, health and personal care, care recipient lifestyle, and the physical environment. <\/p>\n<p>BDHC Chief Executive Wayne Weaire said the renewal is testament to the dedicated and skilled staff and volunteers who work closely with the Aged Care residents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter dozens of interviews and three days of observations and document analysis, the Agency found Ballan District Health &amp; Care worthy of re-accreditation with merit,\u201d Mr Weaire said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe accreditors\u2019 feedback included compliments from residents about the quality of care provided: \u2018they care&#8221;, &#8220;They do the little things&#8221; and &#8220;They are there for us.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a fantastic achievement.
