Bacchus Marsh will be another step closer to having better traffic flow, with Council set to undertake a Local Area Traffic Management study in the area.
\nTraffic, parking and safety issues will be reviewed in the study, conducted by engineering firm Cardno.
\nThe study area is bound by the Western Freeway to the north, Main Street\/Bacchus Marsh Road to the south, and the Lerderderg River to the east.
\nCouncil\u2019s GM Infrastructure Phil Jeffrey said input from residents was also crucial to achieving good outcomes.
\n\u201cWho better to tell us the issues than local residents in the area and those who use the roads on a daily basis?\u201d he said.
\n\u201cWe are seeking feedback on a range of issues, including traffic speed and irresponsible driving, increased through traffic, heavy vehicle use, lack of infrastructure such as pedestrian crossings, pedestrian and cyclist safety and parking issues.\u201d
\nMr Jeffrey said the community feedback will form part of the initial community consultation for the project and will assist in developing a draft LATM plan.
\nA direct mail out has been sent to those within the study area, but Council is also seeking input from those who may not live directly in the precinct, but use the roads and wish to provide feedback.
\nResidents can complete the community questionnaire and add feedback to an interactive map by Wednesday April 4.
