Easter will cause a date change for an Anzac Day service in Bacchus Marsh this year, with the March to be held on Thursday 25 April.
\nAlthough it\u2019s a break in tradition, as the march is usually held on the Sunday proceeding Anzac Day, regular services will still be held in Main Street and include the Dawn Service.
\nThis year will also see the presentation of three potential designs for a new plaque on the Avenue of Honour, to commemorate hundreds of veterans who aren\u2019t named on the trees.
\nBacchus Marsh RSL Treasurer Bruce Lawton said the designs were \u201cquite outstanding,\u201d and the RSL is excited to reveal the successful design at the ceremony.
\n\u201cIt will be a very busy day,\u201d said Mr Lawton.
\nThe Bacchus Marsh Anzac Day Dawn Service will begin at 5.45 on Thursday, 25 April on the Village Green in Main St, Bacchus Marsh, followed by a gunfire breakfast in the Public Hall.
\nThe Anzac Day March will gather at the Bacchus Marsh Hospital grounds at 9.30am, commence up Grant street at 9.50am, making its way down Main street to the Village Green at the RSL Hall.
\nThe presentation of the plaque designs will be held at 10.45am.
\nThis will be followed by the regular Anzac Day service and morning tea in the Public Hall.<\/p>\n
Ballan RSL will hold their Anzac Day services on Thursday, 25 April as usual, with a Dawn Service at the Ballan Post Office cenotaph at 6am, and the March leaving from the Ballan RSL along Inglis St from 1pm, to the cenotaph.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
