\nAfter complaining of a headache, Jack is now fighting for his life \u2013 becoming just one of 300 children in the world who are diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme: the most aggressive form of brain tumour.
\nA fundraiser to help former Bacchus Marsh residents Damien and Sonia Tyter is set to be held at the Commercial Hotel in Ballan this Sunday (July 7), where father Damien worked as head chef for four-years before the family relocated to Queensland.
\nJack is being treated with 33 doses of radiation therapy, as well as an oral chemotherapy treatment, and is in hospital for five-days a week.
\nCommercial Hotel owner Joc O\u2019Connor decided to help raise funds for his former employee and his family.
\n\u201c(Jack) is an 8-year old kid, and to have that put on him and his family is just no good.\u201d said Mr O\u2019Connor.
\n\u201cAll we can do is a little bit to make it easier for Jack\u2019s journey, however long it takes.\u201d
\nMum Sonia Tyter said that, \u201cJoc and Jill are amazing bosses and beautiful people, we are very lucky to still have them in our lives.\u201d
\nPrizes have been donated from locals and businesses for the event to auction, as well as a raffle to be held.
