Resources to help you manage serrated tussock are now just a click away thanks to a major upgrade of the Victorian Serrated Tussock Working Party\u2019s (VSTWP) website.<\/p>\n
The website has been completely overhauled and rebuilt, including the addition of a new video gallery, information notes and the latest research.<\/p>\n
The Working Party has also developed new online videos and case studies for landholders to learn more about this noxious weed.<\/p>\n
Serrated tussock (Nassella trichotoma) is a South American grass which can quickly invade and degrade both native grasslands and pastures.<\/p>\n
It is regarded as one of the worst weeds in Australia because of its invasiveness, potential for spread and economic and environmental impacts.<\/p>\n
VSTWP Acting Chairperson Lance Jennison (Bacchus Marsh) said the revamped website was a great improvement.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would encourage anyone who has not recently visited the website to discover the resources available and services on offer to landowners and groups.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver the past 12-months, Extension Officers assessed more than 11,000 hectares of land for serrated tussock, with 357 hectares found to be infested,” Mr Jennison said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMore than 90 per cent of infestations were voluntarily treated by landowners involved in the program.\u201d <\/p>\n
The VSTWP website also features notes on best practice management for serrated tussock, photo libraries, identification guides, current VSTWP projects, and reports.<\/p>\n
Mr Jennison said of particular interest are the five-minute landowner success story videos.<\/p>\n
