Moorabool Shire Council has announced in a media statement on Tuesday, 10 September that Maddingley Brown Coal has withdrawn its application to use and develop land in Tilleys Road, Maddingley as landfill for putrescible waste.<\/p>\n

“Council wishes to advise that a planning application to use and develop land in Tilleys Road, Maddingley as a landfill for putrescible waste, has been WITHDRAWN by the applicant.<\/p>\n The Maddingley Brown Coal application was to amend its existing landfill permit to include:<\/p>\n \u00b7 household waste that contains putrescible organics<\/p>\n \u00b7 waste from litter bins collected by or on behalf of local Councils<\/p>\n \u00b7 manure and night soil<\/p>\n \u00b7 disposable nappies, incontinence pads or sanitary napkins<\/p>\n \u00b7 food waste<\/p>\n \u00b7 animal waste<\/p>\n Council was due to consider the application at a Special Meeting of Council on 30 September, prior to receiving notification that the applicant was withdrawing the application.<\/p>\n Executive Manager Community Planning and Economic Development Henry Bezuidenhout said Council had consulted widely with surrounding residents since receiving the initial application, so wanted to advise all these residents about the withdrawal.<\/p>\n \u201cCouncil will not have the opportunity to consider this now. We have no indication as to whether the applicant will apply for another planning amendment, but this is a possibility.<\/p>\n \u201cWe will continue to keep the community informed of any developments, and wish to thank everyone affected who took the time to make submissions in regards to this application.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n
