Local schools will have much-needed additional funding for building maintenance under the state government\u2019s new blitz.<\/p>\n
An additional $515 million will be spent across the state in a \u2018maintenance blitz.\u2019<\/p>\n
The investment will more than double funding for maintenance at Victoria\u2019s state schools over the next two financial years, with more than $300 million to be invested in 2019\/20 and $290 million in 2020\/21. <\/p>\n
Schools will be able to spend the money on essential works such as painting, replacing carpet and windows, landscaping, tree inspections and maintenance of infrastructure such as septic systems and water services. <\/p>\n
Member for Melton Steve McGhie said Bacchus Marsh College, Darley PS, Pentland PS and Bacchus Marsh PS will share $572,545 between them.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know students get the most out of their education when they have safe, modern classrooms to learn in, and first-rate facilities the school community can feel proud of,\u201d Mr McGhie said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Victorian Government is investing $515 million in our state schools to ensure Bacchus Marsh students can attend a great local school and get a great education.\u201d<\/p>\n
