The role of town crier dates back centuries.<\/p>\n

In Medieval Europe, town criers were the means of communication for notices such as proclamations and local bylaws, since most townspeople were illiterate.<\/p>\n

But the tradition still exists today; with Moorabool\u2019s own town crier, Gavin Barker, recently competing at the national championships.<\/p>\n
