{"id":18636,"date":"2020-03-16T14:31:06","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T03:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=4485"},"modified":"2024-02-02T22:29:17","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T11:29:17","slug":"pfas-not-harmful-said-no-one-ever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/pfas-not-harmful-said-no-one-ever\/","title":{"rendered":"PFAS not harmful\u2026..said no one ever"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Kate Taylor and Helen Tatchell<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em><strong>\u201c\u2026PFAS are not harmful<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong> to the public<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong> during soil removal,<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong> relocation<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong> or disposal.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n&#8211; Transurban spokesperson<\/p>\n<p>An extraordinary claim of safety has come from the company managing the\u00a0removal of contaminated soil from the West Gate Tunnel project.<\/p>\n<p>In a quote provided to the Moorabool News by a Transurban spokesperson, the company stated the community would be safe from PFAS during the transportation and disposal of contaminated soil at Maddingley Brown Coal\u2019s property in Bacchus Marsh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe West Gate Tunnel Project is taking a safety-focused approach to managing tunnel soil to ensure there is no risk to the community.
