A local bank has celebrated its 7th birthday and instead of receiving presents they handed out seven cheques to seven community groups, and an all-abilities basketball organisation was one grateful recipient.<\/p>\n

In November, Specialist Hoops was the recipient of a $700 cheque from the Bacchus Marsh Community Bank Branch, with the money to go towards a sports wheelchair.<\/p>\n

Founder and Director of Specialist Hoops, Emily Attard, told the Moorabool News that the money was vital in helping expand the group\u2019s programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis money is extremely important to Specialist Hoops as it helps us develop and provide programs for inclusion to the area. We are all about no one getting left behind, and the $700 will help us to take bigger steps in the outlay of our Wheelchair Basketball program in 2022,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving the support from our local Community Bank is amazing and knowing the community is behind us only opens up the path for a more inclusive community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Branch Manager Ian Prince said it is very important to the bank, and the community, to be able to help financially.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be able to invest in local organisations creates opportunity for new groups to get established and for established ones to grow,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Prince said the bank provides for all needs of the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to be an all-inclusive town and we are happy to be a bit part of that \u2018unity\u2019 in community.\u201d<\/p>\n
