DEWLP has said it has been great seeing thousands of people getting back out into the forests during the summer holidays.
\nA spokesperson has advised if you\u2019re packing up your campsite, there are a few things to remember before you leave.
\n\u201cMake sure you take the time to completely extinguish your campfire with water and check the area for rubbish,\u201d they said.
\n\u201cCampfires that aren\u2019t fully extinguished can continue smouldering and it can take just one ember to cause a destructive bushfire.\u201d
\nUnattended campfires should be reported to 136 186 with calls to Triple zero (000) to report a bushfire.
