SIX young female footballers from Moorabool have been named in a Coates League squad, and are eager to play the game at one of the highest levels this year.<\/p>\n
Bacchus Marsh\u2019s Ruby Thomas, Emma Stewart, Elise Cook, Tansy Seymour, Tahni Turner, and Chloe Walker will all don the Greater Western Victoria Rebels\u2019 black and white this year.<\/p>\n
Thomas and Stewart have made the move up from the Rebels\u2019 under 16s side for this season, while Turner, Walker, and Cook all played for the under 18s last season and are set to return to the development rep squad.<\/p>\n
Thomas said it was a bit daunting to step up an age bracket, but she was looking forward to the opportunity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m feeling excited for the challenge, but it is a bit daunting to move up and play against those bigger bodies,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019ll be good to play together with more of the Bacchus Marsh girls against better competition.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlaying for the under 16s, I gained more knowledge and skills, and I think I know the game a bit better now.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe game definitely flows a lot faster in Coates League than local footy.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight now I wouldn\u2019t say getting drafted in the AFLW is my goal, my goal is just to get as many games as I can at the Rebels.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut if that opportunity arose, I guess I\u2019d see what I could do from there.\u201d<\/p>\n
