FIVE young women from Moorabool have been named in Western Jets squads for 2024, and they\u2019re keen to continue their careers at a higher level.<\/p>\n
All beginning their football journeys at the Bacchus Marsh Cobras, Miah Bradbury has been named in the Under 16s squad, while Ella Bradbury, Amy Kerton, Indi Stanley, and Jazmine Dalli will all play for the Jets\u2019 Under 18 side.<\/p>\n
The five young guns were all modest about the achievement when asked how they were feeling, but Ms Stanley said it was an exciting time for the whole group.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a bit overwhelming, it\u2019s really exciting. Being picked to play for the Jets came as a big surprise to me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlaying AFLW is the dream, hopefully. But I\u2019ll take it one step at a time, playing for the Jets this year is a great first step.\u201d<\/p>\n
The announcement means that, with six Bacchus Marsh girls also being named to play for the GWV Rebels, a total of eleven Cobras will be playing Coates League footy in 2024.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s a record figure for the club.<\/p>\n
Female Football Coordinator Leanne Bassett said the Cobras are beyond proud of their up-and-coming talents.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s super exciting, and it\u2019s very good for the Bacchus Marsh Football Club, to see the talent that we have,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes it\u2019s a bit hard, because we can miss them on our game days, but they\u2019re living their dream, and that\u2019s what we\u2019re here for \u2013 to develop these girls.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast year we had five girls, this year all up we\u2019ve got eleven. So the talent coming from this football club is enormous.<\/p>\n
