AUSTRALIA\u2019S flag carrier airline is offering $2 million in grants to regional communities, with applications now open.<\/p>\n
The Qantas Regional Grants Program opened for applications on 21 February, and is seeking applicants with ideas to serve their regional community, maximise local community benefits, and demonstrate innovation.<\/p>\n
QantasLink Chief Operating Officer Rachael Yangoyan said the grants program is a great opportunity for the many hard-working community organisations around the country to receive a boost to their efforts.<\/p>\n
\u201cQantas has been connecting regional Australia for over 100 years and our regional grants program enables us to give back to grass roots community organisations that are the heart of many towns across the country,\u201d Ms Yangoyan said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been incredible to provide grants to more than 50 organisations across Australia who are doing important work for their regions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis crucial work includes supporting children experiencing food insecurity, providing free health services to vulnerable communities and protecting native species for the next generation.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing able to reinvest in the regions we serve is very rewarding for everyone at Qantas, and we encourage groups who are doing extraordinary work to enhance the lives of their communities to apply for a grant.\u201d<\/p>\n
There is no maximum or minimum allocation for each project, with a panel of Qantas and community group representatives to decide which projects will receive funding, and how much, across May and June.<\/p>\n
Applications close on 10 May, with the successful applicants to be announced in July.<\/p>\n
