Member for Eureka, Michaela Settle, visited Darley Primary School on 27 March, joining school leaders and Principal Fiona Kerton to turn the first sod.<\/p>\n
The school’s new infrastructure program was awarded $10.678 million in the 2022\/23 State Budget, and will include a new administration\/staff\/library building, as well as an extension to a current learning wing, creating a new art room along with two further permanent classrooms.<\/p>\n
The new administration building will provide a modernised facility free from termite damage and flooding.<\/p>\n

Ms Settle said it was fantastic to be back at Darley Primary, and see the works begin.<\/p>\n
“The kids of Darley deserve quality classrooms and learning space to match the incredibly high quality of teaching they’re getting at Darley Primary School,” she said.<\/p>\n
“I was there when the project was first announced, and I am proud to have been able to turn the sod with some of the amazing student leaders here.<\/p>\n
“I look forward to being there again when the build is complete!”<\/p>\n
Practical completion of the project is forecast for September 2025.<\/p>\n
