QUESTS, adventure and mystery will be coming to Kryal Castle next weekend with Questival.<\/p>\n
This is the second time the event has been held and the it features aspects of escape rooms, festivals and immersive theatre.<\/p>\n
“It’s quite a new concept which ties together a few different events that have happened before,” said event organiser, Michael Scarlett.<\/p>\n
“We run theatrical events, and the idea is people come and dress up on the theme and play different characters.”<\/p>\n
There will be a range of activities on site such as mock sword fighting, arena games, puzzles, archery and quests.<\/p>\n
“Our intention is to build a really rich and dynamic world that you feel like you’re somewhere else for a night and evoke that sense of childlike play,” said Mr Scarlett.<\/p>\n
“We’ve really put a lot of effort into the quests this year and I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of people engage in them.”<\/p>\n
Mr Scarlett said the fest goes beyond putting on a costume, providing attendees with a place to feel free.<\/p>\n
“In society we all have roles to play, and we can get a bit caught up in who we are and our expectations,” he said.<\/p>\n
“Having environments where you really let go and have fun, there’s something really special about that and a freedom in those environments.”<\/p>\n
