IN LESS than a week, a local sports club has raised close to $2,000, as part of one of Australia\u2019s best-known raffles for grassroots teams.<\/p>\n

The Darley Football Netball Club is currently taking part in the Toyota Good For Footy Raffle, and is aiming to raise $10,000 for replacement of equipment, and gym works.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing, the club has raised $1,810 \u2013 placing it 9th in Australia for the most money raised.<\/p>\n

DFNC President Mark Shelly said he had been blown away by the support from the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike anything, it\u2019s been a fantastic response from the community,\u201d Mr Shelly said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think when the community see that the funds are coming back to the club, it\u2019s clearly a win-win for someone entering a major raffle with over $290,000 worth in prizes, but at the same time knowing every ticket they buy is supporting their local club.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople anywhere in Australia can purchase tickets\u2026I\u2019ve had family in Far North Queensland that have even bought tickets.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Mr Shelly said the raffle was a real win-win, and encouraged clubs across Moorabool Shire to get involved in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so simple it\u2019s not funny. Any club in Australia can register, and the proceeds go straight to the club,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe process is so simple for any club that\u2019s wanting to raise any level of funds. It\u2019s $5 a ticket, and there\u2019s a small processing fee, but all the ticket sales themselves go directly to the clubs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Toyota Good For Footy Raffle will<\/p>\n

close for entries on 9 September and be drawn on 13 September, with prizes ranging<\/p>\n

from a 2024 Toyota Kluger worth more than $64,000, to a coaching clinic with an<\/p>\n

AFL star, and 20 General Admission tickets for next year\u2019s AFL season.<\/p>\n
