FALL down the rabbit hole this month at Kryal Castle with a visit from Alice in Wonderland’s magical characters.<\/p>\n
The program is underway and will be on until Sunday 19 May with the Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, White Rabbit and Alice on site interacting with visitors.<\/p>\n
“It’s about bringing Alice to life inside the castle and retheming the castle, so people feel like that are stepping into Wonderland,” said Laurence Heenan, performance operations manager.<\/p>\n
“You’ve got characters running around, several shows, craft activities that the kids can join in, it’s all very exciting.”<\/p>\n
For adults, there will also be a special Wonderland after dark event on Saturday 18 May with live bands and a series of quests.<\/p>\n
“It’s going to be something still set in Wonderland, but more for the adults,” said Mr Heenan.<\/p>\n
“It’s going to be a bit scary with music, a party atmosphere and quests to undertake.”<\/p>\n
Mr Heenan said that so far, the event has proved popular with visitors.<\/p>\n
“It’s one of our favourite programs to run and we get so many people who come here who just adore it and love the characters,” he said.<\/p>\n
“Alice in Wonderland has such a cult following for young and old, it’s a wonderful story.”<\/p>\n
Mr Heenan said one of the reasons he believes the story is so loved is due to the relatability of the characters.<\/p>\n
“It’s so wonderfully out of this world but still relatable,” he said.<\/p>\n
“All of the different characters are so different in so many ways, so there’s going to be a character that speaks to everyone.”<\/p>\n
