{"id":29076,"date":"2024-05-14T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-13T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/?p=29076"},"modified":"2024-05-08T20:29:25","modified_gmt":"2024-05-08T10:29:25","slug":"seek-out-festivals-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/living\/seek-out-festivals-return\/","title":{"rendered":"Seek out festival&#8217;s  return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AN AWARD-WINNING local festival will be back for its second iteration, with expressions of interest now open to get involved.<\/p>\n<p>The Hide + Seek Festival, which first ran in 2022, brought music, art, food, and entertainment together across Moorabool Shire, showing off the hidden gems our regional towns offer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/05\/295345038_1406662586_66277.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The inaugural event ran in Blackwood, Gordon, Bacchus Marsh, and Ballan, and won the 2022 Creativity and Culture Award at the National Awards for Local Government.<\/p>\n<p>It featured more than 200 artists performing at 20 venues, and beat 27 other events from across Australia to take out the award.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/05\/294916424_1406663553_66265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Moorabool Shire Mayor Cr Ally Munari said it would be exciting to have the festival on once again this year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hide + Seek will provide exposure to Moorabool Shire&#8217;s landscape, growers, artists, makers, spaces, and places,&#8221; Cr Munari said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a great success in 2022, and we&#8217;re looking forward to it being even bigger and better this year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While the inaugural Hide + Seek Festival ran from late June to mid-July, this year it will run from Saturday 2 November to Sunday 10 November.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/05\/295010162_1406661086_66258.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Council says a full program for the festival will be announced soon, and expressions of interest opened last week for food producers, artists, and businesses who wish to get involved in the festival.<\/p>\n<p>Expressions of interest close on 2 June.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/05\/295255846_1406665253_66279.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Drop-in sessions were held in Bacchus Marsh on Tuesday, and in Ballan on Thursday, with one more drop-in session and an online session also planned, to help people decide how they can take part in the festival.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/05\/295437605_1406663053_66316.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At 11am on Monday 13 May, those interested in taking part can attend a drop-in session at the Gordon Public Hall, while an online session will also run on Tuesday 14 May via Microsoft Teams.<\/p>\n<p>To register your attendance at a drop-in session or online session, email <a href=\"mailto:arts@moorabool.vic.gov.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arts@moorabool.vic.gov.au<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For more information and to register for a session or expression of interest, visit the Moorabool Shire Council website and search &#8216;Hide + Seek&#8217;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AN AWARD-WINNING local festival will be back for its second iteration, with expressions of interest now open to get involved.
