ROUND two of the Tiny Towns Fund is now open for applications from organisations across the Moorabool region.<\/p>\n
The State Government made the announcement last week and member for Eureka, Michaela Settle, welcomed the news.<\/p>\n
“Small towns are the heartbeat of regional Victoria, and the Tiny Towns Fund helps local groups put on events and commit to projects that make their communities even better,” she said.<\/p>\n
Grants between $5000 and $50,000 will be available to boost tourism, liveability and pride in towns with up to 5000 residents.<\/p>\n
The first round of the fund is contributing to 200 projects in 181 towns in regional Victoria.<\/p>\n
Successful local projects included a new masterplan for the Clarendon Recreation Reserve, a nature playground in Warrenheip, and a vegetation survey and updated landscape concept plan at Paddock Creek Reserve.<\/p>\n
Just down the road, the fund has boosted an expansion to the Inverleigh Public Hall, works at Shelford Common, and Christmas displays in Buninyong.<\/p>\n
Townships who are yet to receive a grant or who have project ideas to support the community are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n
The application process has been updated to make is easier for small community groups.<\/p>\n
