THANK YOU <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u2764<\/span>\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n&#8211;<strong> Sonia Tyter (Jack\u2019s mum)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>By Meg Kennedy<\/p>\n<p>A fundraiser held for young eight-year-old Jack Tyter, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in May this year, received an overwhelming response earlier this month.<br \/>\nMore than $12,000 was raised for the Tyter family on Sunday, 7 July at the Ballan Commercial Hotel.<br \/>\nA turnout of around 200 people showed their support for former Commercial head chef Damien Tyter, wife Sonia and their family.<br \/>\nCommercial Hotel publican Joc O\u2019Connor told the Moorabool News the total of $12,100 raised was handed to the family at their Gold Coast (Qld) home on Wednesday, 17 July.<br \/>\n\u201cDamien and Sonia are very grateful and humbled for what was achieved for them and the money raised,\u201d said Mr O\u2019Connor.<br \/>\n\u201cThey would like to thank everyone who has contributed in any way and thank them for their love and support.\u201d<br \/>\nYoung Jack is in good condition, and the Tyter family will soon travel to Ballan, Bacchus Marsh and Darley to thank everyone for their support and show their appreciation.<br \/>\nThe GoFundMe link to donate to the Tyter family is still open, and donations can be made at https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/8gbuq-jack039s-journey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had a visit from Joc and Jill O\u2019Connor, who told us how successful the fundraiser at the Commercial Hotel was for Jack&#8217;s Journey.
