{"id":32095,"date":"2024-11-01T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-31T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/?p=32095"},"modified":"2024-10-31T04:06:58","modified_gmt":"2024-10-30T17:06:58","slug":"college-reflects-on-comp-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/sport\/college-reflects-on-comp-season\/","title":{"rendered":"College reflects on comp season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MEMBERS of Pentland Calisthenics College (PCC) traded in their leotards for formal wear over the weekend with the advent of the institution&#8217;s awards night.<\/p>\n<p>Held at Melton&#8217;s Staughton College on Saturday, PCC president Gayle Stewart said it was a rewarding way to cap off a year of competing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a chance for us to all get together as one Pentland family to celebrate the achievements of the teams over the year,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We don&#8217;t get a lot of chances to get together so this is a nice way for everyone to come together and hear about what each section&#8217;s year was like and thank those who helped get the girls on stage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>About 140 people including coaches, students and family witnessed more than 30 award recipients share the spotlight, with others called up to receive their medals won throughout the competition season.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_32102\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32102\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-32102\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/11\/2024Masters_Jessica__17923-1-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/11\/2024Masters_Jessica__17923-1-rotated.jpg 900w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/11\/2024Masters_Jessica__17923-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/11\/2024Masters_Jessica__17923-1-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-32102\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Masters Coaches Awards recipients Jessica Atkinson, Cassandra Tucci, Taylah East and Patty Farnell.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Across PCC&#8217;s four perpetual categories, senior student Mackenzie Dart took home the Senior Heather Anton College Girl award, and the Ann Jeffrey College Person accolade went to Claire Rasmanis.<\/p>\n<p>The Beverley Anton Most Improved award went to intermediate dancer Noma, while the Gayle Stewart Rising Star, which debuted last year, went to junior student Matilda.<\/p>\n<p>Service awards were also handed out to Tahnee Currie, Sandra Kepsner, Jessica Mitchell, and Ms Stewart for 15, 25, 30, and 45 years of commitment to the institution.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_32103\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32103\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-32103\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/11\/2024Seniors_Tahnee_S_17945-1-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"801\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/11\/2024Seniors_Tahnee_S_17945-1-rotated.jpg 900w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/11\/2024Seniors_Tahnee_S_17945-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/11\/2024Seniors_Tahnee_S_17945-1-768x1024.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-32103\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tahnee Currie and Sarah Dugdale-Porter both received the Senior Coaches Awards\u2019 Achievement accolade.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the Tinies Coaches category, the Achievement Award was shared between Emma and Aria, while the Improvement Award went to Harper and Winona, and the Sandra Kepsner Flex Award to Adalind.<\/p>\n<p>For the Sub Junior Coaches Awards section, the Team Spirit accolade went to Kathryn, and Breanna received the Encouragement award while the Sandra Kepsner Flex Award went to Lillah.<\/p>\n<p>Junior students Layla, Natalia and Indy were presented with the Junior Coaches category&#8217;s Achievement, Improvement, and Sandra Kepsner Flex awards respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Two intermediate students both named Keira were handed the Intermediate Coaches awards for achievement and consistency, while the Senior Coaches Awards&#8217;
